Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and removing debris from the rig floor
  • Helping in setting up, taking down, and transporting essential drilling equipment
  • Driving truck or other vehicles for the transportation of equipment 
  • Repairing, moving, adjusting, and recalibrating machinery
  • Conducting preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Assisting in mixing mud and chemicals 
  • Taking directions from the driller or other crew leaders
  • Performing the duties on the drilling rig as an all-around worker
  • Ensuring safety checks
  • Managing and manipulating sections of pipe during drilling

EDUCATION:  

  • Must have completed secondary education
  • Completion of petroleum industry-approved training courses
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Hydrogen sulfide awareness Certification
  • Common Safety Orientation or (EGSO/PST/GELS)
  • Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) Certification
  • Rig Technician Certification

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of experience as a motor hand is preferred
  • Three months of training with an experienced operator is required

Pay Range

$23.25 – $48.62 per hour
