Responsibilities

  • Loading, unloading and moving construction materials to work areas
  • Removing debris and cleaning up the rubble from the work site
  • Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials like concrete and asphalt
  • Helping carpenters and cement finishers in activities of construction
  • Cleaning up hazardous materials such as chemical spills
  • Demolishing piping stacks and existing interior walls in the building 
  • Installing and dismantling scaffolding, barricades, ramps, catwalks, etc needed at the construction site 
  • Using prying bars and other tools to demolish buildings
  • Sorting, cleaning, and piling salvaged materials
  • Installing finishing components such as baseboard, casings, bathroom fixtures, door hardware

EDUCATION:

  • Workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) Certification
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one-three years of experience in carpentry is required
  • Previous experience in commercial construction and demolition would be preferred

Pay Range

$20.00 – $30.00 per hour

Core Competencies Required

Must be physically fit to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 50lbs of weight, Able to complete tasks within tight deadlines, Exceptional communication skills, Able to work positively with the work crew
