Duties and Responsibilities
As a Vac Truck Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating vacuum trucks to transport liquid and solid waste materials safely and efficiently.
- Performing on-site services, including cleaning tanks, pipelines, and industrial equipment.
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
- Adhering to all company policies, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
- Assisting with site setup and teardown, including connecting hoses and other equipment.
- Completing accurate service logs and submitting required documentation after each job.
- Communicating effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth job execution.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Previous experience operating vac trucks or similar equipment (preferred but not mandatory).
- Certification in Confined Space Entry, H2S Alive, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and safe waste handling practices.
- Good physical fitness to handle the job’s demands, including lifting and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
