As we expand, we are looking for a skilled Steam Truck Operator to join our growing team and work on large-scale industrial and oilfield projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Steam Truck Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating steam trucks to safely transport and apply high-pressure steam for industrial cleaning, heating, or thawing applications at oil and gas sites.
  • Preparing and maintaining the steam truck, including checking fuel, water, and steam pressure before use.
  • Delivering steam to various job sites, ensuring efficient and safe operations throughout.
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues with the truck.
  • Managing steam levels and pressures to ensure safe operation while meeting the specific needs of the job.
  • Working closely with supervisors and field crews to ensure timely deliveries and job completion.
  • Maintaining accurate logs of steam usage, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption.
  • Adhering to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  • Performing minor troubleshooting and basic maintenance on the truck and equipment when necessary.
  • Coordinating with other team members to ensure all required safety protocols are followed on job sites.

Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement (Class 1 is an asset).
  • Clean driving record with a strong commitment to safety and responsible driving practices.
  • Previous experience operating steam trucks or similar heavy equipment (preferred).
  • Certification in H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, and Ground Disturbance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of steam systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of oilfield operations, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to handle minor repairs and equipment checks.
  • Physical ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
