Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Rock Truck Driver to operate large capacity mining trucks, construction zones, and quarries. The successful candidate will be responsible for hauling various materials, including rocks, gravel, ore, and sand, while ensuring safety compliance, maintaining vehicle efficiency, and facilitating the efficient transport of materials. This role involves working in rugged terrain and may require rotating shifts, as well as adherence to strict safety protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key rock truck driver responsibilities include:
- Material Transport: Safely and efficiently transport construction materials like gravel, soil, rocks, and other materials to designated areas on the construction site.
- Pre-trip Inspection: Conduct comprehensive pre-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is operational and meets safety standards before each shift.
- Safe Loading and Dumping: Safely load materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution, and unload at designated dump sites in accordance with safety protocols.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the truck, including tire pressure, fluid levels, and mechanical parts, and report any issues immediately.
- Compliance with Safety Standards: Adhere to construction site safety regulations, including load limits, traffic management, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Fatigue Management for Drivers: Manage rest breaks and report any signs of fatigue to ensure safe driving practices and prevent accidents.
- Coordination with Site Team: Communicate with other construction workers and equipment operators to maintain smooth operation and efficient use of time.
- Environmental Considerations: Adhere to environmental guidelines and ensure minimal disruption or damage to the surrounding area during material hauling.

Qualifications and Skills
The key qualifications and skills required for a rock truck driver are:
- Safe Driving: Proven ability to safely operate large-capacity construction trucks over rough terrain.
- Heavy Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with operating and maintaining various models of construction trucks, such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Volvo.
- Inspection & Maintenance: Strong knowledge of pre-trip inspections and the ability to identify and address basic mechanical issues.
- Safety Compliance: Familiar with construction site safety standards, including traffic control and proper use of PPE.

Experience Requirements
- Previous experience as a rock truck driver or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
- Experience in material hauling for construction projects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and site safety compliance is essential.
- Training or certification in rock truck operation and safety management is an advantage.
Work Environment
- Work is conducted in outdoor construction environments, often on large-scale, active job sites.
- May be exposed to rugged terrains and various weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat, rain, snow).
- The job may involve extended hours of sitting while operating the truck and working in rotating shifts.

Working Hours
