Duties and Responsibilities
As a Hydrovac Operator, you will:
- Operate hydrovac trucks to perform non-destructive excavation.
- Safely expose underground utilities, pipelines, and cables using high-pressure water and vacuum systems.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in excellent condition.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients on-site to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to maintain efficiency.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities, including job site conditions and service details.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Hydrovac experience is preferred but not required; training can be provided.
- Certification in Ground Disturbance and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and standards.
- Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.
